As we enter the holiday season, our thoughts are on what we are thankful and grateful for in our lives. Here at Easy Ice, we are thankful for our customers who trust us with their ice needs and for our tireless employees, partners and vendors who serve our customers every day. And we hear from customers that they’re thankful for a simple and cost-effective ice machine solution.
In this time of reflection, some of our team members wanted to let our coworkers, customers, partners and friends know what they are individually grateful for.
Things I am thankful for:
- Customers who take the time to understand how we can help them succeed and trust us to be their partner
- Employees who tirelessly devote themselves to the cause of earning the right to be our customers partner ever single day
- Our supplier partners who deliver high quality reliable products and services that are paramount for our business.
- A country that allows businesses to start, grow and flourish
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our employees, customers and partners.
- I am thankful for all the people who encouraged, coached, counseled, taught, supported and believed in the ideas and the people of Easy Ice.
- Thankful for a group of employees who give so unselfishly to those less fortunate during the holidays and the entire year.

I have so much to be thankful for. First and foremost, is my wonderful husband (and high school sweetheart of 11 years). We are proof that opposites attract. We balance one another perfectly. Together, we have our two children: a boy (4) and a girl (2). They give me a reason to be thankful every day that I get to be their mom. Having a family has been my greatest accomplishment this far. Having a great work/life balance at Easy Ice allows me to enjoy moments with my family. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with. Luke, one of our National Sales Iceologists, was inspired to share a little story he wrote titled Fantastic Thanksgiving instead of a straight-up thankful list:
Thanksgiving is fast approaching,
Which begs the question dear millennials…
How will you respond to your uncles, and aunts and parents when they ask you; “How are you?”
The conversation had begun like most mundane break room conversations go:
“How are you?”
“I’m good, and you?”
“Are you really fantastic?” I asked her. “Or does “fantastic” mean good and “good” mean not so great?”
“things could be worse,” she told me.
“But if things could be worse, they could also be better. Are you fantastic? Or are you compromising between what’s really fantastic and what’s okay and choosing an optimistic outlook?” I asked this innocently, as though the answer didn’t matter, though really it did. Like saying “I’ll eat anything” when you’re hoping for pizza.
She looked at the ceiling and thought for a moment.
“My kids are good, everyone’s healthy, I have a good job; yes, I’m fantastic.”
She went on to tell me about the weather, how it “could be warmer” or it sure would be nice if some of her loved ones were still with her.
“But that’s just life,” she says. “Why worry about the things we can’t control when everything else is fantastic!”
And there it was, she had reasoned both logically and emotionally how fantastic her day was. She turned the question over to me;
“So, how are you doing today?”
I looked at the ceiling and thought for a moment, “Am I fantastic”?
My grandfather died yesterday, so it goes. I’m restless, what’s new. I’m healthy, I have a good job;
“I’m fantastic.” I told her.
Dear Millennials, worry is symptomatic of the ambition that flows through your veins. This Thanksgiving allow the things you can’t control to wash away and let your attention fall on what you can control & the people that surround you.
That to me, would be a fantastic day. ~ Luke, National Sales Iceologist
